The Product Field Notes

Real-World field notes from the Product Management trenches.

About

This is how it all started…

I stumbled into product management the way many of us do—by saying “yes” to solving problems that didn’t fit neatly into any one role. With a background in programming, education technology, and web production, I found myself constantly translating between users, developers, and business stakeholders. Over time, I realized that what I was doing had a name: product management. Since then, I’ve worked across cross-functional teams, led launches, and navigated the messy but rewarding world of building things that matter.

TheProductFieldNotes.com is my way of documenting that journey—what I’m learning, unlearning, and refining as I go. It’s a collection of real-world observations, practical tips, and honest reflections on product ownership, Agile processes, requirement gathering, stakeholder management, and more. Whether you’re a fellow PM, aspiring to become one, or just curious about how product work happens behind the scenes, I hope these notes spark ideas, offer clarity, or simply let you know you’re not alone in the chaos.
